What makes it 70% Kids-Friendly: Children gain a small playground, flat walking loops and shallow river edge, yet parents must supervise closely due to no lifeguard, no shade on equipment and rubbish-free policy requiring carry-out trash.
Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to enjoy the playground, picnic, short walk and river play without rushing.
Swing and climb at the playground:
Explore swings, small slides and climbing platforms in a fenced area.
Tip: Visit early or late to avoid sun-heated equipment and bring a hat.
Family picnic and BBQ:
Use free electric barbecues and undercover tables by the river.
Tip: Arrive before midday to claim a sheltered spot close to toilets.
Gentle walking loops:
Enjoy 1–2 km flat trails through open grassland.
Tip: Suitable for kids; let them spot birds and river red gums along the way.
Shallow river play:
Wade and paddle in the sandy river edge.
Tip: Bring lifejackets for kids and supervise at all times; no lifeguard on duty.
Kid-friendly kayaking:
Launch your own kayak or hire a double kayak nearby.
Tip: Book with local hire operators for child-size lifejackets and family rates.

Okay easy walk. But the trail is narrow and not for wheel chairs. Plenty of car parking. Old and young trees and some flowers. Quiet. We saw some birds including an Eastern Spinebill.

A charming park near Tuggeranong town center offers numerous picnic tables, some BBQs, public toilets, and a playground. Additionally, it features a delightful river beach with interesting rocks to explore. While the beach area isn’t wheelchair accessible, the picnic tables might be reachable if the wheelchair can navigate grass easily. It’s a serene spot with plenty of shade and sunny patches, hi...

Very nice place, easy walks, easy access to the river, several barbecues and restrooms. Lots of tables for picnic. Lots of wildlife, kangaroos and several birds. It doesn't have drinking water and garbage bins. Please take your rubbish with you, it's sad to see people leaving rubbish behind, specially near the river.
In summer, visit early or late to beat the heat and apply sunscreen. In cooler months, layer up for breezy riverside winds. Bring insect repellent in warmer seasons.
