What makes it 57% Baby-Friendly: Babies can join a short stroller-friendly grass path to shaded picnic tables and accessible toilets, but absence of change tables, uneven riverside access and no nursing room reduce comfort.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for a relaxed picnic, short stroll and playground break without over-tiring your baby.
Picnic under shelter:
Set up at the undercover picnic tables near the car park.
Tip: Bring a portable baby seat and sunshade; the BBQ is free to use.
Gentle riverside stroll:
Walk the flat, mixed-terrain path from car park to picnic area (200–300 m).
Tip: Use a sturdy off-road stroller and keep to grass paths.
Playground break:
Let your baby enjoy the fenced toddler swing and small slide.
Tip: Visit early or late in the day; the equipment has no shade.
Accessible toilet stop:
Use the wheelchair-friendly stalls in Pine Island Central toilets.
Tip: Bring a changing mat; there’s no dedicated change table.

Okay easy walk. But the trail is narrow and not for wheel chairs. Plenty of car parking. Old and young trees and some flowers. Quiet. We saw some birds including an Eastern Spinebill.

A charming park near Tuggeranong town center offers numerous picnic tables, some BBQs, public toilets, and a playground. Additionally, it features a delightful river beach with interesting rocks to explore. While the beach area isn’t wheelchair accessible, the picnic tables might be reachable if the wheelchair can navigate grass easily. It’s a serene spot with plenty of shade and sunny patches, hi...

The beach area is not wheelchair accessible but the picnic tables might be if the wheelchair can easily navigate grass. Such a tranquil place with lots of shade and sunny spots. Highly recommended. Very nice place, easy walks, easy access to the river, several barbecues and restrooms. Lots of tables for picnic. Lots of wildlife, kangaroos and several birds. It doesn't have drinking water and garbage bins. Please take your rubbish with you, it's sad to see people leaving rubbish behind, specially near the river.
In summer the playground and paths heat up quickly; visit in cooler hours and pack extra water. Gates lock at dusk—check closing times. Winter mornings can be chilly, so bring blankets.
