How Kids-Friendly is Palace Electric Cinemas?

79%Kids-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 79% Kids-Friendly: Regular G- and PG-rated releases, popcorn party packages, and booster seats suit children, but late-night cult sessions and alcohol-focused areas limit appeal after early evening.

(from 1,348 reviews)

Positives:

  • Easy Booking: Online booking lets you pick seats in advance and skip the line.
  • Central Location: Located in the city centre, it’s a short walk or bus ride from major hotels.

Challenges:

  • Limited Kids Showtimes: G and PG films run mainly on weekend matinees—plan ahead for school days.
  • Dark, Quiet Environment: Younger kids may need preparation for dimmed lights and the hush of the cinema.

Great movie theatre venue but let down by 2 negatively impacting things affecting our experience. A green, small but very noticeable dot on the screen (cinema 2), also we had 2 people who knocked over their drinks because there’s no proper drink holders. Also there’s insufficient space for drinks and food, you can’t even fit 2 large drinks on the holders. Otherwise the venue and staff were great...

Used to really enjoy watching films at Palace, but the upkeep of the place has taken a turn for the worse. The cinema I sat in was in an absolute state. The chairs were filthy with stains on them, some of them were missing arm rests, and there were a whole bunch of loose chairs sitting in the front row that someone hadn't bother to collect and stash away. Place seems to be understaffed - I don't o...

Went to watch “How to train your Dragon” Friday night. The overall experience was disgusting, sitting in “cinema 7” which hadn’t even been cleaned - bin was full, wine glasses everywhere, popcorn all over the seats and floors which my partner swept up. Not to mention the audio cut out in the movie for about 30-45 seconds. Clearly need to be focusing more on the cleanliness of things rather than th...

We went last night. The condition of cinema is atrocious. Seats were filthy. Arm rest were missing. Seat comfort was poor. Won’t be going again. Can’t rate zero.

Love seeing movies here, makes it feel like an event. Just attended the special screening, in French, of The Count of Monte Cristo. Fantastic atmosphere complete with a serving of 3 French treats & a glass of wine. Great staff too even when they are overrun with patrons!
