What makes it 80% Kids-Friendly: Older children can handle the short gradual walk, spot birds and play later at nearby Pod Playground, yet parents must supervise near platform edges and walk to other areas for toilets.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A 2.3 km easy path, picnic, and playground break fit well into a half-day without rush.
Family Hike on Dairy Farmers Hill Track:
Walk the 2.3 km return sealed/gravel path to the lookout.
Tip: Start in the morning to beat the heat. Let kids spot birds and take photo breaks.

Tip: Pack sandwiches and fruit. Watch for cockatoos that may swoop close.
Play at Pod Playground:
Drive 3 minutes to the Village Centre playground with slides and sand play.
Tip: Bring a change of clothes. Supervise younger kids at the climbing pods.
Join a Guided Welcome Walk:
Meet at the Visitor Centre for a free 45-minute tour of art features and views.

One of the best sunset point in Canberra!! BUT remember my best tips - arrive before sunset time in iphone at least 1hour!!!😭I was driving during the best golden hour...was absolutely stunning!! Everything was orange color at the moment sooooo pretty.
The Mog Champ
The Mog Champ sends his regards. Definitely one of the best viewpoints in Canberra and a place both locals and visitors can enjoy especially on a blue sunny sky. One of the best benches you could sit on for even a short moment to appreciate nature in its entirety! There are a few more benches around the lookout but the one closest to the parking area would be my favourite. Mogliest Regards, Your...

Absolutely positively beautiful. I’d say this is the best lookout spot in Canberra. Either for sunrise, sunset, moonrise, it’s a 360 degree view of everything. The nature is simply breathtaking. I can spend the whole afternoon here. I recommend going here during the weekdays because there’s limited parking spaces during the weekends.
Diksha Kotnala
A very beautiful place, a must visit. Breathtaking views of the Mountains on all sides. You can keep driving throughout the hill and stop at the lookout point or park on the side or walk along the scenic views.
In autumn and winter, arrive at sunrise to see hot-air balloons drift overhead; in spring look for wildflowers along the track.
