What makes it 61% Baby-Friendly: Pram-friendly paths, parents’ rooms and change tables exist, but the 90-min walking tour and lack of toddler zones may tire infants, so confirm suitability with staff first.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for the guided tour, café break and baby care stops without rush.
Guided Public Tour:
Walk behind the scenes on the AIS campus and visit Sportex exhibit.
Tip: Contact the tours team in advance to confirm infant policy and bring a lightweight stroller.
Family Change Rooms:
Use accessible rooms with baby-change tables and hooks near the Visitor Centre toilets.
Tip: Locate these rooms upon arrival for quick nappy changes.
AIS Café:
Enjoy coffee, smoothies and snacks in pram-friendly indoor or outdoor seating.
Tip: Request a high chair and sit on the patio for more space.
AIS Shop:
Browse official AIS gear, including baby hats and bottles.
Tip: Pick up a souvenir water bottle and refill at nearby bubblers.
Water Stations & Wi-Fi:
Refill bottles at water fountains and use free Wi-Fi to check feeding tips.
Tip: Download the venue map over Wi-Fi to plan stops between exhibits.

Great experience if you have any interest in sport. Tour guide Kobi was excellent. A definite must do when visiting Canberra!

Went here for the wiggles concert. It was a great venue. We didn't have to worry about tall people blocking our view due to the different levels of seating so your guaranteed to see what is happing onstage . Wish they had some rails on the different spilt levels so I didn't have to worry about my kids falling forward

Great tour of the AIS facility - we saw one of the pools, basketball/netball courts, volleyball, combat sports, strengthening gym and the basketball stadium, as well as spent time in the interactive games area. Great for kids

We did this tour with a sport mad 10yo boy, an 11yo girl + 2 adults only partially interested, and one adult not at all interested in sport. We all found the tour interesting and enjoyable. The kids loved the Sportex section and would have loved more time in there!

Yeah, it's OK if you have 2 hours to kill. A little bit of sports history, a little bit of a walking tour, and a hands-on play area. You can't play with the nice equipment, but you can take photos from the gallery. Nothing that YouTube couldn't bring you up to speed on in 15 minutes.
In summer, bring sun hat for outdoor areas and use shaded paths. In winter, dress baby in layers for the 90-minute tour.
