The upgrading had been completed for about 3 years and was opened since December 2022. This playground is huge, with a giant heron slide, flying fox, swings, sand and water play zone (water equipment still workable), half-basketball court, t...

Thorndon park is a brilliant park great for walking, running, playing and everything else. Great views especially for a city. A few downsides are dogs aren't allowed and the paths near the lake are very dirty with duck feces. But apart from those downsides it is a great place with good bathrooms and brilliant play equipment. There are plenty of fish in the lakes but fishing is not allowed there ar...

Perfect place for a family picnic, lots to keep kids busy, ample parking and accessible for wheel chairs and prams. The park has enough shaded areas for a sunny afternoon and the presence of the water body makes it stand out!
