What makes it 42% Baby-Friendly: Prams fit the aisles and an accessible toilet may have a fold-down change table, yet hard echoing stone, lack of nursing room and need for silence can make more than a brief visit tiring for carers.
Note: Saint Francis Xavier's Cathedral is 42% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Adelaide for a more suitable experience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Long enough to pick up a leaflet, explore main highlights, and relax at the plaza without tiring your baby.
Self-guided Leaflet Tour:
Grab the free fold-out guide at the entrance to spot the baptistery font, stained glass, and Rose Window.
Tip: Visit between services to move at your own pace with the pram.
Mary MacKillop Plaza Break:
Stroll to the plaza for grass space where baby can nap or stretch.
Tip: Bring a lightweight blanket and use the plaza’s shade for comfort.
On-site Baby-Change:
Use the ground-floor Wakefield St toilets with a fold-down change table.
Tip: Carry your own changing mat and wipes as there is no seating or microwave.
Off-site Parents’ Rooms:
Walk to Rundle Mall Plaza or Myer Centre for full facilities.
Tip: Check opening hours online or at the mall information desk.

Absolutely stunning place, you will be in awe of its beauty. City of Churches! I had my 112 year old bible blessed by the father and am very grateful

We dropped by this church which is near Victoria Square. The place is large and historic dating back to 1851. It's a peaceful and calming place. The stained glass was beautiful.

Vincentia S. S.
A beautiful Catholic Church with a heavenly voice of young people's choir. Enjoyed the 6.00pm Sunday Mass.
In summer, arrive before 10 am to avoid heat. In winter, dress baby in layers as interior can be cool. Spring brings mild weather ideal for plaza time.
