What makes it 77% Couple-Friendly: A couple can picnic under shaded shelters, climb Eagle’s Perch for shared views and walk to the waterfall, yet playground crowds and family noise reduce romantic ambience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: This timeframe lets you explore the playspace, hike to First Falls and enjoy a picnic without rushing.
Picnic at Stradbroke Road:
Share a meal at the covered tables and use the free BBQ near the playspace.
Tip: Pack pre-cut items to grill quickly; shaded spots fill up by midday.
Climb Eagle’s Perch:
Ascend the timber-and-stone platform for elevated views of the creek valley.
Tip: Come early for softer light and fewer visitors.
First Falls Walk:
Complete the 3.6 km return on firm gravel and boardwalk to reach the waterfall.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes; boardwalk sections can be slippery when wet.
Sunset Photography:
Position yourselves on the plateau above Giants Cave or by the falls as daylight fades.
Tip: Visit in winter or spring for stronger falls flow and richer sky colors.
Wildlife Spotting:
Walk quietly along Fourth Creek to spot frogs, honeyeaters, kangaroos and koalas.
Tip: Bring binoculars and scan gum trees at dawn or dusk.
Guided Rock-Climbing:
Book a 3-hour climb and abseil session with local guides for an adrenaline rush.
Tip: Reserve at least two weeks ahead; gear and instruction are provided.

This is a wonderful nature park. I, and my kids, enjoyed it immensely.

Great place for kids, family picnic and natural walks. There is toilet and BBQ pit. Plenty of parking too. Kids can bring their bicycle for riding around the park.

Kids absolutely love spending time here. Playing in the nature play or in the creek. They never get bored visiting this place. Loads of space for parents to relax.

A little out of the way. 40 minutes out from the city (by bus) Worth the time to travel there. Large playground, lots of shade for a picnic. Very well maintained! The table tops are still garnished and we saw workmen checking on the play equipment, bbq pits and improving the tables during our visit! Toilets are clean, a real plus!
Winter and spring deliver peak waterfall flow. In summer, plan visits in early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat.
