What makes it 72% Baby-Friendly: Flat pram paths, a baby-change toilet and shaded rotunda help carers, but no indoor nursing room and open river edges require caution, so the park is good yet not ideal for infants.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for a riverside walk, sheltered picnic and short river cruise with a baby.
Pushchair-friendly river walk:
Follow the smooth, flat paths around Torrens Lake.
Tip: Use the wide concrete paths and stay close to the railing by the water.
Shaded picnic spot:
Sit under trees or the 1882 Rotunda on picnic tables and benches.
Tip: Bring a changing mat and baby wipes; no dedicated change tables.
Popeye River Cruise (with stroller):
Board the 40–50 minute heritage cruise with your pram on deck.
Tip: Bring a small blanket for the stroller and check toilet stops before boarding.
Electric BBQ area:
Use the free electric barbecue near the picnic zone.
Tip: Bring your own utensils; clean the grill after use.
Public toilets with baby-change:
Use the accessible cubicle on King William Road with a built-in change table.
Tip: Carry an MLAK key if you need the accessible door.

A lovely area and lovely garden. Was great to wander in it.. the photo of the girl on the tractor helps maintains the gardens and so I asked for a photo of her.

Me and my family went there to watch the fireworks for NYE 2025. And OMG, it was some of the best fireworks I've ever seen. And I think it was safely done, without damaging most of the environment.

It's just a nice place to relax, you can sit in the little shelter when it rains. If you're lucky, you might even find some wildlife approaching you, its really endearing, the animals are fantastic, believe me. A black goose approached me and let me get real close to it. Really a once in a lifetime experience, though i haven't been to any festivals, i can see that they're really fun. Update: I vi...

I come here pretty often but most recently for the lucky dumpling festival. Such a massive park for nature and environment . Great view of the river and it’s an amazing place to have a picnic. Amazing for New Year’s Eve fireworks as well. Great place to take kids to for fun or for a date. Good place to have a walk.
In summer, enjoy free concerts like Symphony Under the Stars and Carols by Candlelight under the Rotunda. In cooler months, dress baby in warm layers and visit mid-morning when paths are dry.
