What makes it 70% Baby-Friendly: Parents with babies have flat pram routes and a free parents’ room with change table in Central Market, yet few highchairs are guaranteed and weekend crowds make stroller manoeuvring harder.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This gives time to stroll the streets, sample snacks and visit baby facilities at a relaxed pace.
Stroll under the Paifang archways:
Walk along Moonta Street to see the twin gates and stone guardian lions.
Tip: The sidewalks are flat and pram-friendly. Pause for photos when traffic is light.
Sample potstickers at street stalls:
Try pork or vegetarian dumplings at vendors around Chinatown Plaza.
Tip: Order your food to-go and use outdoor seating near vendor tables for your stroller.
Visit Adelaide Central Market baby facilities:
Access the Parents’ Room and accessible toilets in the Gouger Street dining wing.
Tip: Bring your own change mat and park your pram in the dedicated bay inside the Parents’ Room.
Join the “Tastes of Chinatown” food tour:
Enjoy a 2-hour guided walk with tastings of pastries, snacks and tea.
Tip: Book online in advance. Infants ride free in prams; adults pay per ticket.

I visited Adelaide’s China Town yesterday with friends. We sat outside one of the venues. Ordered inside, with it served to us. Our meals were okay. Not the best we have had but I give mine 7/10. A small venue. We went to the first one with available outside table/ chairs.if I were to go to China town again, I’d be more selective, aiming for something with more meat and vegetables, where as this w...

Chinatown is a small street between Gouger and Grote Streets next to the Central Market. I visited on a Sunday and it was pretty quiet. There are only eateries around as far as I could tell with even more Chinese restaurants located in the surrounding streets. This Chinatown is insignificant when compared to Sydney and Melbourne. However, if there was an event happening I'm sure that there would ...

There are no shops open as we arrived just past 9am in Chinatown. The only shop was opened is the Bread shop at the front. Later in the day we returned to Chinatown and found a lot of interesting shops and market. Highly recommended the Central Market which has different varieties of food and cafe. We loved the Portuguese custard tarts shop and it tasted very authentic.

A nice surprise to spot the Chinatown right in the CBD of Adelaide. Signature gates at both ends. It’s clean, full of character. A awesome place for enjoying Chinese food and culture.

Parking here can be a bit difficult since it's in the city center, but it's right next to the Central Market, so you can easily v...
In February’s Lunar New Year street party you’ll see lion dances and fireworks. In October–November the OzAsia Moon Lantern Trail lights up after dark – crowds peak at dusk, so arrive early with your stroller.
