What makes it 66% Kids-Friendly: School-age children like ringing the big bell and spotting dragon carvings, and entry is free, yet many stairs, no play area, and basic toilets mean parents must supervise closely.
Why 1–2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to explore the courtyard, ring the bell, enjoy the garden, and have a meal without rushing.
Explore the Courtyard:
Walk through the open courtyard to view carved dragons, lotus motifs, and traditional pillars.
Tip: Arrive early to see the carvings in soft morning light and avoid crowds.
Ring the Peace Bell:
Strike the large bronze bell on the rooftop tower for a resonant gong sound.
Tip: Let each child take a turn; the echo carries across the temple grounds.
Stroll the Chinese-style Garden:
Wander over small bridges and around fish ponds beside the main hall.
Tip: Supervise children near water and look for fish under the lily pads.
Enjoy a Vegetarian Meal:
Try simple rice and vegetable dishes served in the temple’s dining hall.
Tip: Order the child-friendly rice plate and sit outside under the shade trees.

This is a quiet and spacious Buddhist temple, not too far from town. It’s a good place to offer prayers and spend time chanting. The atmosphere is peaceful and not crowded, which makes it easy to slow down and reflect. There are some mosquitoes, especially if you stay longer, so it’s good to be prepared. Overall, a very good place for prayer and chanting if you’re looking for calm away from the...

A great Buddhist temple in the middle of this beautiful city. It's right by a very major roadway therefore quite easy to access either through private or public transportations. Temple ground is quite huge, a full walk around can take a full 10 to 15 minutes. You get to observe rituals in this temple quite often and you see a lot of believers coming in and out regularly. There are some stalls sell...

This temple is a gem. Unfortunately it is not very popular but it deserves more attention. You need to come here with either a taxi or a grap. There are three floors. On first floor there is an amazing cafe/tea but you need to leave your shoes outside. There is also a souvenir store. You need approximately one hour. In the temple you cannot enter with shoes too.
From May to October expect afternoon showers; carry a small umbrella. Visit during the Obon Festival (7th lunar month) to see animal release ceremonies and special prayers.
