What makes it 67% Kids-Friendly: Children can watch crews mend nets, join September’s free Fall Festival crafts, and eat fish-and-chips, but open piers lack railings and no playground means parents must supervise nonstop.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to stroll the docks, watch fishing operations, grab a meal, and explore the market without rushing younger children.
Walk the docks:
Children watch crews unload nets and mend boats up close.
Tip: Go in the morning to see active fishing operations.
Public guest float:
Stroll out on the pontoon for a closer marine view.
Tip: Use the four-hour free docking to let kids explore safely on the water.
Chinook’s at Salmon Bay:
Casual waterfront restaurant with a dedicated kids’ menu.
Tip: Order early and choose outdoor seating so kids can move freely.
Wild Salmon Seafood Market:
Pick a fresh fish to take home or picnic on the seawall.
Tip: Let kids choose a fish to learn about different local catches.
Fishermen’s Memorial:
Bronze-and-stone tribute that teaches local fishing history.
Tip: Read the names and plaques together for a quick history lesson.

I grew up in food from the Fishermans on the pier in San Clemente. Always amazing So.i figured it was a safe place to choose on a little trip to Seattle. The crab dip was amazing... every thing else not so mych. I ordered the special crab and shrimp Primavera couldn't eat it had to send it back.. just got a chicken sandwich instead. It was dry and grizzly.my daughter also go the chicken sandwich ...

A great place to grab a sandwich and drink, and then walk around the docks, especially on the weekdays when the fisherman are actively working, just be sure to give them space to work. There are plenty of tables and benches to seat while you eat. You can also pick up freshly caught seafood at one of the many stores around the dock to take home and cook as well!

The fisherman's terminal is a nice place to get away from the busy life. There are places to eat near the water. Walking paths around the water that makes one feel tranquil. It's quite beautiful very early in the morning when the sun just begins to rise. When you look out at the water and the boats that are floating at bay you think , "Oh it looks like the boats are floating a top shining jewels."

I rode an e-scooter over here to explore this place and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this terminal. There are endless boats here, of all fishing and recreational varieties. What's especially excellent is the quality of the explanatory signs that explain the different types of fishing boats! The signs are extremely educational and well-written. It's also fun to look at the boat name...
Visit mid-September for the free Fishermen’s Fall Festival with kids’ crafts and games. In summer, docks fill by 10 AM—arrive early. From October to April, bring rain jackets and boots.
