Positives:

  • Low morning crowds: Weekday mornings are quiet for uninterrupted path workouts and beach walks.
  • Waterfront skyline views: Catch clear views of downtown and the Space Needle across Elliott Bay at sunset.
  • Easy access by water taxi: Skip parking stress by arriving via water taxi from downtown.

Challenges:

  • Limited shade: Few trees on the beach mean you need sun protection on hot days.
  • Wind off the bay: Adjust layers for chilly breezes, especially in the afternoon.
  • Parking fills fast: Street parking is scarce; consider transit or water taxi to avoid circling.

Found this beach Park in Seattle with good views of the Olympic Mountains, and the slight skyline. The walking / biking path is ideal, the sand is perfect for relaxing, and there’s plenty of places to grab a bite nearby. Great spot for a sunset stroll or a low-key beach day.

Always one of my favorite spots in Seattle! The weather was wonderful and traffic was great. There were people having BBQ and playing sand volleyball. The waves were huge as it’s a low tide day. Very cool to see how the stairs were revealed! I could also spot tiny space needle from the beach! Very peaceful.
