Hotel G San Francisco (solo trip)

The entrance is pretty worn, but the rooms are great. Very clean, industrial style. Good amount of space, friendly staff, AC in the rooms, and we loved the speakeasy vibe of The Valley Club in the hotel. My only complaint is that the bathroom is extremely small so you can’t put anything in it.

Terrible experience. I was visiting my little sister from out of town. My sister lives in Daly City and I booked this hotel so we could be closer to downtown. She came by later in the evening, but because she wasn’t on the original reservation, the hotel wouldn’t allow in the hotel room after 7pm. This is a lovely hotel, clearly renovated with care. The common spaces and rooms are beautiful, stylish, and comfortable in design. The only major challenge I ran into—and what I’d recommend people watch out for—is that the top-floor rooms (floors 11 and above) seem to have non-functional air conditioning. We booked a two night stay through a third party website (Expedia)for our stay at the Hotel G. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate early check in with a fee which was great.
