As a New Yorker (back in town couple days to visit family) I can’t recommend this place enough. The location is fantastic, my old neighborhood on Central Park North West, so close to the trains which are just a zip downtown to anywhere you want to go, Central, Riverside and Morningside Parks (the last two being overlooked gems), convenient stores, cafes, anything you need is right there. The hoste...

The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful with local recommendations. This hostel offers spaces to hang out and meet fellow travelers and puts on a variety of activities and tours. The rooms are clean and there are lockers available to store belongings. Bring your own locks (or buy one from the front desk). Excellent home base for exploring NYC. I would absolutely stay here again!

I had a great stay at HI New York City Hostel. Even though the place is quite large, it still feels warm and cozy, which I really appreciated. They offer lots of activities and programs, making it a perfect choice for solo travelers who want to meet people. Jessie at the bar deserves a special mention, she’s amazing at bringing guests together and creating a friendly vibe. I’d definitely stay here...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Memorable First Hostel Experience My stay at HI New York City Hostel was an incredible and truly memorable experience—especially since it was my very first time staying in a hostel. From the moment I checked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. Chris at the front desk made the check-in process smooth and friendly, setting the tone for the rest of my stay. A special shoutout goes to Jessie...

Amazing Hostel! One of the best in the world and I have to call out the bar! Fun, friendly, and affordable bar on the Upper West Side. Drinks are only $6, about half the price of most bars in the area. The bartender, Jesse, is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can really tell she has put her own personal touch into creating the space. She genuinely cares about people having a great time...
