What makes it 70% Kids-Friendly: Children up to 12 can try Symphonies for Youth, kid-friendly tours, and the garden, but standard concerts demand silence, seats are tight, and there is no real play space.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This gives time for a guided tour, garden visit, and a youth concert without rushing.
Docent-Led Guided Tour:
Follow a volunteer guide through public spaces and the rooftop Blue Ribbon Garden.
Tip: Tours last 60 minutes, start in the Grand Lobby; arrive 10 minutes early.
Self-Guided Audio Tour:
Use your smartphone or borrow a Podcatcher to hear stories by Frank Gehry and John Lithgow.
Tip: Podcatchers suit kids 10+; younger children can listen with your own headphones.
Blue Ribbon Garden & “A Rose for Lilly” Fountain:
Explore the hidden rooftop garden and Gehry’s mosaic rose fountain.
Tip: Let kids run on paved paths; visit at midday for best photo light.
Symphonies for Youth:
Join an interactive session with instrument demos for ages 5–11, followed by a short concert.
Tip: Book tickets online and arrive by 9:50 a.m. to join pre-show activities.

❤️ Walt Disney Concert Hall ❤️ ✨ Even without ever stepping inside, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is unforgettable. During my time in LA, it quickly became my favorite landmark on the skyline. Frank Gehry’s design is nothing short of a masterpiece: those soaring, silvery curves ripple across the building like frozen waves, giving it a futuristic presence. From every angle it feels less like archi...

The Walt Disney Concert Hall is a must visit when you’re in L.A. The architecture is stunning, the garden has beautiful views of DTLA. The outdoor areas are peaceful, clean, and well maintained. Everything is very organized, and the staff is very helpful. You can purchase drinks and snacks before the concert. The L.A. Philharmonic was incredible, we loved the classical music concert. This is our first time visiting the Walt Disney concert hall. The architecture is beautiful, and the overall design of the building is wonderful. If you have never visited the concert hall, please know that the ORCHESTRA VIEW section is behind the stage so you will be enjoying the music from the bands backside. “Orchestra view”means the view the orchestra has facing the audience. Would not recomm...

What a beautiful place, I don’t think there is a bad seat in the whole concert hall. There is plenty of parking in the underground garage and it is very easy to get up to the entrance. We had a nice experience and I look forward to our next concert. Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take pictures or record video once the concert begins, so I only took a few pictures pre-concert.

The seating is perfect at any angle and it has comfortable seating for everyone. The woodwork is beautiful on every level. Gaining entrance to the concert hall is really easy and available on every level of the parking structure and on the street lev...
