Nice front desk staff and luau staff, but the restaurant staff left a lot to be desired. The room was large and clean, but there were several negatives. There weren't any outlets by the nightstands, no curtains only shutters, the wifi consistently didn't work and the phone didn't work so you couldn't call the front desk or place a takeaway order. One plus is that there are water refill stations on...

Wonderful location and beautiful grounds. Rooms are dated. Buildings under renovation. Beds aren't comfortable (hard and low). Balcony is a plus. Mon-Wed/Fri Luau is extremely loud. Grateful Anne at the front desk could move us to another room for 4day stay. Wait at restaurant/bar is lengthy. We drank our complimentary mai-tai and ended up ordering takeout. Soups and salads are good, but a bette...

Starting with what we like about this resort: Easy and smooth check in and great location to places; cleaning staff was super nice and sweet; great coast view from our oceanview room; being given two complimentary drinks at the bar downstairs (maybe due to Costco travel?) What we did not like: discovered a roach in the room at 2 am after meteor shower evening trip and had to clean out all our lug...

I had the best time at the Royal Kona Resort. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms are clean, spacious, and come with a lovely balcony. There are plenty of great amenities — an oceanfront restaurant, pool, and lagoon — and the ocean view is absolutely spectacular. The grounds are charming with a koi pond and gardens. The Ali‘i Drive location is incredibly convenient, within walking distan...

Built in 1968, this resort has beautifully maintained its original mid-century charm. The rooms are cute, comfortable, and very clean. The check-in process was smooth, the hospitality was outstanding, and the c...
