Hawaii State Capitol (couple trip)

I came here to complete some paperwork. I was stunned by the inside of the building and the offices, beautiful! The views are also outstanding. The security was extremely nice and the people working at the offices were very efficient. Mahalo!

Cool building, surrounded by Banyan trees and other beautiful flora and fauna. I liked the view from the interior courtyard.

Visiting this offers a valuable opportunity to understand how the state government operates. It provides insight into the legislative process, public administration, and how policies are developed and implemented. Such experiences deepen civic awareness and help individuals appreciate the roles and responsibilities of elected officials and government employees in serving the public.

Great backdrop for protests. Open spaces promoting gatherings. Palm trees and plenty of space for hundreds who gathered with their frustrations, signs, and chants. Parking is an absolute challenge, as is lack of access to restrooms.

Having visited over a half of US Capitols I can say this one is the most unusual one, and one of the most interesting. It's located just behind the Iolani palace, which I strongly recommend visiting. Unlike many neoclassic Capitols with the central dome all across the US, this one is a modern square building.
