Positives:

  • Baby-friendly breaks: Benches and shaded picnic tables on the crater floor make feeding and playtime easy
  • Free water refill: Use the bottle-filling station at the trailhead to prepare formula or hydrate

Challenges:

  • No stroller access: The trail has steps and tunnels from the start; strollers cannot go beyond the parking area
  • Limited changing facilities: Restrooms lack dedicated changing tables; plan to use a single stall for privacy

Loved it. Easy to get to by bus. Then it's 10 minutes to the entrance/gate. The hike is moderate. It can take you 30-60 minutes to get up there. Some people i dont think had any idea what they had signed up for and really struggled. It's not a hard hike, but you still have to be remotely in shape. The area is beautiful. It's cool that you get to go inside the bunker and the views from it are aston...

This hike is a wonderful and well-worth-it experience for the entire family. It features a gentle, gradual incline that’s easy to navigate. At the top, you have two options: take the stairs or the trail. The choice depends on your desired level of challenge. I recommend taking the trail on the way down, but the breathtaking, spectacular views make it a worthwhile experience regardless.

We had such an amazing hike, with many great views and vista points. The hike up is moderate, not too steep but also not flat. There are many stairs they higher up you get, in addition to a cool little tunnel you get to trek through. Parking is not to hard to find, and overall I highly recommend!

A spectacular place to hike at sunrise (make reservations early), the hike is short but steep, be prepared in your fitness level with water and electrolytes. And be prepared for crowds, but folks are good about sharing the trail. I caught a taxi up to the entrance, but walked back to the beach after, about 3 miles downhill from the summit.

Really beautiful place for a rather quick hike. The summit is GORGEOUS and you can see so much of the island from up there. I did see two people being air-lifted out and many many more struggling (people I passed on the way up still had not made it near the top when I was heading back down). So please be mindful and aware and ask yourself are you fit enough to do this hike. Watch a YouTube video b...
