What makes it 86% Solo-Friendly: A solo traveler easily books a seat, gets live narration and clear porthole views; the 1.5-2 h outing fits flexible schedules, but the high US$185 fare and lack of on-board restroom lower appeal.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Tour and shuttle boat ride take about 2 hours, fitting a solo schedule.
Standard Submarine Discovery Dive:
Descend 100 ft under Waikiki aboard a 48- or 64-passenger submarine to view coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles and shipwrecks.
Tip: Arrive 30 min early for check-in. Wear layers in the air-conditioned cabin. Use the complimentary audio guide and bring your camera for porthole shots.
Waikiki Sunset Cocktail Cruise:
Sip your welcome drink on the Majestic yacht while watching the sun set over Diamond Head and the shoreline.
Tip: Book a Friday cruise to catch the weekly fireworks. Choose the open-air deck for photos. Carry a light jacket as temperatures drop after sunset.
Water clarity peaks April–September. Winter swells (Dec–Feb) can reduce underwater visibility and make the shuttle ride choppier.

The Atlantis Submarine tour was an excellent experience! It’s not every day that you get to ride in a real submarine, so I consider it something truly special. We saw so many colorful fish, turtles, and even sharks. While the camera doesn’t capture everything clearly, in person it’s so much better. The shipwrecks and sunken planes really surprised me, and the whole atmosphere was unforgettable. Th...

what a cool adventure! I’d recommend this to anybody that watched submarine movies and wants to see some really cool underwater sites. The staff was really cool and friendly. My only complaint was there was no giant squid.

Atlantis Submarines does an excellent job of making things enjoyable for families of any size. The Waikiki tour is interesting, as a majority of it goes by man made structures trying to create reefs. On a lucky day, like we had, there were tons of animals that might be rare during other dives. In all, we saw two sharks, four spotted eagle rays, two turtles, and some dolphins. The dive guide made e...

Amazing experience! So informative and so neat to see the ocean floor! You ride a charter boat, which has amazing views of Honolulu and Diamond Head, before arriving at the submarine. The submarine goes around sites that Atlantis set up as fish sanctuaries on the ocean floor so there's tons of fish and wild life to see! Highly recommend!

WOW!! It was really cool to go down in a submarine! Totally worth the money! The guide I had was very informative about the sea life and setup of the tour. I would definitely do this again just to ride in a submarine!
