Downright Austin, A Renaissance Hotel (couple trip)

Just arrived at Downright Austin. I want to say that the valet service is top notch! Brooklyn with valet has been so helpful and kind! She has went above and beyond, from friendly conversation to always opening my door! Excellent customer service 5⭐️

The good. Stayed here for a week, rooms are a good size, decor is out of the 80's, so much pink and grey. Staff down in the swim club bar are a lot of fun. Wonderful overall experience! My wife came for a private event and I spent the evening hanging out enjoying the lobby ambiance. We had some issues with the valet service's computer system, but Josh at the front desk resolved it and kept us company while waiting for everything to go through. He was great! Rick at the Terrace bar ruled too.

The hotel has a lot going for it, but also a few frustrations. The pool, once larger, is now reduced, and on weekends the “club” makes it very crowded. Given that the large terrace behind (towards the creek) was always empty, it would have been nice to have a pool extension there.
