Holiday Inn Manchester Airport (with baby)

Poor night's sleep. Could not shift thermostat from 19 degrees. Too hot. Frosty reception staff. A smile and a friendly welcome costs nothing. Was the same on last visit. Morning staff were much more cheerful. Two bath towels for two guests would have been useful. After showers, we found the second towel in the cupboard.

The hotel is a short walk from the airport station, but it's via an unpaved, unlit pass, so not ideal for a solitary female. Only airport hotel we've encountered that charges for its shuttle to the airport. Rooms were OK, but it's a big step up into a bathtub, without grab rails, which put me off. Super convenient for terminal 2. We landed just after 5pm with 2 tired small children and its literally opposite the entrance to the terminal and excellently sign posted so ideal when brain capacity is limited! Great location, very convenient for Terminal 2. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, well equipped room with plenty of space and very comfortable. Easy check-in and check-out process.
