What makes it 80% Couple-Friendly: Couples can sit together in the balcony, share pre-show drinks at three bars, and take photos in the Art-Deco foyer, making the venue a lively, romantic night-out option.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time to explore the Art Deco foyer, enjoy pre-show drinks, and watch a full concert without rushing.
Admire the Art Deco foyer:
Walk through the glazed terracotta entrance hall and sweeping staircase dating from 1938.
Tip: Arrive 30 minutes before doors open to avoid crowds and capture photos in soft light.
Choose paired seating:
Opt for seated balcony if you want comfort or standing stalls if you plan to dance.
Tip: Book online early—balcony seats sell out fast on major gig nights.
Enjoy pre-show drinks:
Visit any of the three bars on ground and first floor for beers, wines, or cocktails.
Tip: Try a seasonal cocktail; bars accept card but bring cash to skip the queue.
Capture photos under the red ceiling:
Position yourselves on the balcony to frame the iconic red dome and stage.
Tip: Take your shot before house lights dim for the best warm lighting.
Browse artist merchandise:
Shop t-shirts, posters, and vinyl in the foyer run by CMI Ltd.
Tip: Carry small change (£10–£35 items sell fast) and check pop-up merch stands early.

Lovely venue. Great acoustics. Elis, John & Dave were hilarious. 3 stars mainly due to extortionate prices on bar (£8.50 pint) and shouty stewards shouting the obvious.

A decent venue with great acoustics and a massive stage. The location ok but it is a bit out of the city centre and requires either a decent walk or taxi. The seating in the upper sections is a bit cramped, but overall a pleasant experience.

It's a great venue to be fair. We went very recently and I've never been in a queue so large and we weren't even particularly late to arrive but it meant we only caught the last 2 songs of the supporting act which I was actually ...

Well organised. Marshalls very polite and helpful. Great to be in a circle A or H raws 14 and 15 are edge middle ones;) Finneas proved to be very talented, singing live is not a studio and he has done a great job. Parking booked on Just Park, pricey but the car was safe and walking distance away

Lovely 1930's Art Decco facade and interior. Originally a cinema. With the stalls floor sloping down to the stage with 2 bar areas. Surprisingly clean toilets. And great acoustics. Had an awesome night curtacy of Corb Lund supporting The Dead South
In December, book comedy tours early for holiday specials. In summer, expect touring festival acts and longer bar queues.
