What makes it 36% Baby-Friendly: Babies are allowed, yet there is no baby-change, few lifts, many steps and potential construction noise; feeding, changing or calming can be hard so families leave soon.

Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to admire the clock tower and halls at a relaxed pace with a baby.
Photograph the Gothic clock tower:
Stand in Albert Square and capture the 85 m clock tower’s neo-Gothic details.
Tip: Visit early to avoid crowds and use a baby carrier for better framing.
Spot the Dalton and Joule statues:
Find the white marble statues of scientists in the entrance hall.
Tip: Pause here for a quiet break; seating nearby helps you rest with your baby.
Explore the grand council chamber:
View the ornate wood panelling and historic portraits in the main chamber.
Tip: Enter during free public opening hours; corridors can be narrow—carry your baby for ease.
Visit during the December Christmas market to see festive lights around the tower. On summer mornings, the stonework glows—ideal for family photos.

An architecturally stunning building that is free to enter and well worth seeing inside and out. If you have the chance, a tour with a trip up the clocktower is an interesting way to spend a few hours.

Really beautiful hall steeped in local history and a great place to host an event. We had the company Christmas party here and it was excellent. The food was cooked to perfection and served by great staff with the kind of precision and care you don't often see these days. Even posh Aunt Mabel wont be disappointed!

City Hall is exceptionally impressive with many historic art works, numerous 'mansion like' meeting rooms, statues, marble columns and the list goes on! There is a cafe on the ground floor. Highly recommended if you are in Manchester and you are up for some history... hurry though because it closes Christmas 2017 for a minimum of 5 years whilst it is refurbished.
