What makes it 80% Couple-Friendly: Lit fountains, lion statues and rooftop bars give romantic backdrops, but heavy crowds and traffic noise reduce intimacy, so the spot is very good for pairs though not perfectly secluded.
Why 30-60 minutes visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Couples can view key monuments, watch the fountains and enjoy street performances at a relaxed pace.
Watch the fountains at dusk:
See the two central fountains light up in LED colors at sunset.
Tip: Arrive 15 minutes before sunset and stand on the north side for the best views.
Browse public art and lion statues:
Walk around the Fourth Plinth rotating sculptures and the four bronze lions at the column base.
Tip: Scan the plinth QR code for artist info and pose by a lion statue during off-peak hours.
Enjoy street performances:
Stop near the National Gallery entrance for musicians, living statues and magicians.
Tip: Carry small change for discreet tipping after a performance.
Have a rooftop drink:
Sip cocktails at the Trafalgar St James rooftop bar overlooking the square.
Tip: Book ahead and plan a £50 per person minimum spend for window seats.

After playing monopoly so much and seeing the name Trafalgar Sq, it is nice to finally be stepping in this place. Unfortunately, it is also a place for demonstrations, protests etc... was caught in a midst of Free P-tine Movement... DID NOT like the aggresive atmosphere.

Large historical square in the centre of London. Containing Nelson's column, fountains, lion statues and other statues. Also where the National Gallery is located. Went there recently for the Japan Matsuri (a festival with all things Japanese. Music, Dances, stalls, myaku-myaku,etc.).A great day out. Toilets are on the square as well, think they're paid entry usually.

One of my favorite spots in London - it’s a fun spot for great sight seeing. If you love art, you absolutely must visit the National Gallery here (and it’s free!). You’ll get a great view of Big Ben down White Hall and capture pictures with the Lion statues. It’s a must visit in London!
