Garner Hotel Edinburgh - Haymarket (solo trip)

Quite an expensive hotel for what it offers. The rooms are small, and there was a noticeable cold draft coming through the window. Only one elevator was working during our stay. We booked through IHG and usually receive a complimentary breakfast, but that wasn’t included here. On the positive side, the hotel design is nice and the room itself was clean.

Fantastic hotel found across the road from Haymarket train station. The rooms are compact but very clean. Morning breakfast beats Premier inn hands down. Bar area found at the front of this building with large TV screens if you love your sport. The reception staff were very helpful, and this area is great to chill while waiting for your train or tram. Perfect layover spot in Edinburgh I was in Edinburgh for a short one-night stay before an early flight to Hamburg and chose this IHG hotel — it turned out to be the perfect choice. The location couldn’t be better: right across from Haymarket Station, where I arrived by train, and just steps away from the tram stop that takes you directly to the airport the next morning. Rooms were clean, newly renovated, a bit small, but very adequate for a solo traveller. My only issue is sometimes it could be a bit noisy, since my room was just Infront of the tram station. Other than that, staff are lovely, service is good. Location is well connected, right next to bus station and train station. The city is easily accessible.

I stayed one night and found it wonderful. Comfortable bed, nice shower/toilet room (no bath). View over the rear of the hotel. Staff are excellent. Nice reception with a small shop and coffee area. For a city centre hotel is fab.
