What makes it 61% Kids-Friendly: Kids 4–12 are welcome at NYO2, KIDZ BOP or similar, and under-2s sit free on a lap, yet no play zone, loud volumes, late finishes and strict seat rules mean some concerts may overwhelm them.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Concerts last under an hour and leave time to explore the foyer and enjoy interval snacks without rushing kids.
NYO2 Family Concert:
A 45–60 min interactive show introducing orchestra basics with fun themes like Star Wars and Scottish tunes.
Tip: Book Stalls seats for close views and arrive 15 min early to settle in before the show.
KIDZ BOP Live Certified BOP Tour:
A pop-music concert designed for kids with sing-along hits and dance-alongs.
Tip: Reserve a free under-2 baby ticket by phone if needed and sit near an aisle for quick breaks.
Explore the Edwardian Foyer:
Roam the restored grand foyer with marble floors and sweeping staircases.
Tip: Visit 30 min before your show to take photos and let kids admire the architecture.
Pre-order Interval Drinks:
Order soft drinks or snacks in advance to collect at half-time without queuing.
Tip: Use the online venue facilities page or ask staff on arrival to submit your order.

Beautiful venue for a show... comfy seats, great acoustics and easy access to seating. We saw a Comedian Ross last week. Great time and easy exit as well

The people either side of us felt exactly the same unfortunately so it seems as though it's not an isolated issue. I will say, however, that the amount of legroom is commendable for a theatre. If ...

Stunning Victorian hall! Been here to see a few bands and the venue is part of the experience!! Seats are Victorian style but comfy enough but the venue is fantastic and has a more modern bar area so you can get served!! Highly recommend this city centre venue and you need to check out the spiral staircase to the loos!!

The place hosts brilliant concerts, and it's a great place for university graduation ceremony. The seats could be comfier, but I think that's standard to feel like one's back is broken at the end of the night!
In the August Festival season, check for extra family concerts and special beanbag events. Book tickets weeks ahead to secure seats.
