Stunning park, beautiful woodland walks, amazing eatery and cafe. Huge shop with foods, clothing, ceramics, kids things, cards etc. Love the fort for the kids and there's also a Go Ape for the big kids. So much to see and do and plenty space for picnics too.

Beautiful walks, cafe, with plenty seating outside too, in lovely open courtyard. Good quality food in the restaurant. Excellent shopping, and scenery wonderful.

The food establishments have gone seriously down hill. It’s always been expensive but this time a poor quality burger (no fries) and hot dog (single sausage) was £25. The two coffees (extra ££) were so...

Dalkeith Country Park is an absolute gem just a short trip from Edinburgh, offering a perfect escape into nature with an impressive array of activities for all ages. It’s far more than just a park—it’s a true day out destination. The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a sense of scale and tranquility. The walking trails are beautifully maintained and meander through ancient woodlands and along ...

This is a nice enough country park. Does have some nice paths. Have been coming here for years. Some good events hosted here. Pay 3 pounds to park now. Fort Douglas kids enjoy but it's frustrating to have to pay entry as an adult when it's for the children not me. Food and drinks nice but pricey.
In winter trails can be muddy—wear waterproof boots. In spring look for snowdrops and bluebells. In autumn arrive early for crisp light and deer sightings.
