Auld Reekie Tours (with kids)

Our guide Ally was a great storyteller, very available for any questions and recommendations. Also a very entertaining tour, with lots of good jokes by our guide. The overall tour lives up to expectations of both spookiness and curiosities.

Booked the Terror tour decently last minute didn't have high expectations going in, but Darren our guide was wonderful! Easy to understand, great tone changes really added to the affect on the story telling, seemed well versed on Edinburgh unsavoury past, and very engaging. I knew the jump scares were coming but still kept me on my toes. A guided tour is the only way to see the vaults so I recomme...

The first 20 minutes above ground were quite entertaining. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. Once we entered the actual vaults it became apparent that each vault was pretty much the same with little or nothing to see. The guide tried to make it entertaining with 'spooky' stories, but there is very little actual substance to the tour. There are much better underground tours in Edinburgh...

Had a lovely time with their Terror Tours, Louisa was an incredible guide. Funny and charming, and was willing to chat with us between segments and answer questions. I wouldn’t say it was anything too scary, comparatively, even for being 18+. They didn't talk about the serial killers or visit the graveyard, it focused more on the witch hunts, the history of torture, and stories of people who lived...

We had a great time with James today! He was so energetic that you can't help but get into the spirit of it all. We had a somewhat short walk from the meeting place to the entrance of the vaults but he kept the group engaged by stopping at some quiet places and giving us great stories about Edinburgh's history. Going down into the vaults requires a bunch of steps but we had a few folks with canes...
