What makes it 74% Kids-Friendly: School-age kids can swim, watch nesting turtles, camp, and picnic under shade; lifeguards inconsistent and strong surf in monsoon demand supervision, so suitability good but not perfect at 75.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A morning or late afternoon visit lets kids swim, explore mangroves, and spot turtles while avoiding midday heat.
Swim and play at Nai Thon Beach:
Calm, shallow water and fine white sand make it safe for young swimmers.
Tip: Arrive early for soft sand and shade under casuarina trees.
Sea turtle nesting tour:
Watch endangered turtles lay eggs on Mai Khao or Nai Yang (Nov–Feb).
Tip: Book the free volunteer-led evening walk at the visitor centre in advance.
Walk the mangrove boardwalk:
Flat trail through an untouched saltwater swamp with crabs and birds.
Tip: Wear water shoes and apply insect repellent before you start.
Plane-spotting at Mai Khao Beach:
See low-flying aircraft land just offshore.
Tip: Bring a hat and a small foldable chair for the best view.

it a nice small bay with sandy beach and clear water. It has a restaurant for food, and way over priced sunbeds for rent. Bring your beach towel as rental price for a sunbed are ridiculous, $50 for 1-bed! Also note to come early, due to the small size beach it will quickly get overcrowded by noon.

Simple peaceful, and lucky to have this as a back drop to Naiyang beach. It has many birds and casaurina trees provide shady to the beach goers, So glad the national parks have stopped the development above the Marriott.. encroaching on the park. I Have stayed at both sides of the sirinat. Maikhao and Naiyang.

Giving a one star cause the ticket is a scam and the beach and area all around has so much trash and debris. It's not a park with anything to see or do, it's just blocked from one point to another where they can try and get unknowing tourists to pay a fee. There are ways to enter and you can just go around near the beach. It's says 200 baht for foreigners and 40 baht for locals, but I never saw an...

Worth a visit as one can witness the coral cemetery, which is an unusual experience. When I visited the sea wasn’t accessible, but all the coral left me wonder what is underneath the sea. As a downside, unfortunately the park was littered and very little managed to sustain its natural value

Those tall Casuarina trees are something else entirely 💚 Feel-good atmosphere. There is also a sandbank to walk on. People come here for picnic or jogging along the road as the road has little traffic. An umbrella ☂️ will be very useful because there is nowhere to hide should the rain start unexpectedly (like it always does). I haven't seen any cafes or shops.
From November to February, join guided turtle nesting tours at dusk. Avoid the rainy season (May–October) when trails may flood and beaches can be rough.
