How Baby-Friendly is Palace of Nations?

50%Baby-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 50% Baby-Friendly: Paths suit prams and a nursing room is provided, so outside grounds are doable; still, the long quiet tour is tough for infants, and no on-site crèche or bottle-warming station exists.

  • Baby care spots: Dedicated changing and breastfeeding rooms available free of charge

Challenges:

  • Tour length: Guided tour involves 1 hour standing and 2 km walking; plan breaks or skip with baby

Lovely grounds and highly recommend the shop. The stamp counter assistant was most helpful and very knowledgeable. Not clear where to queue. Despite having bought a ticket online, I still had to queue to get the ticket validated. This was not made clear in the email. Glad I arrived early to go through all the formalities.

I visited the UN headquarters in Geneva and really enjoyed the group tour. Walking through the big halls, especially the Assembly Hall and Human Rights Council Chamber, was fascinating. It felt special to stand in the rooms where so many important discussions actually happen.

Could that be a typical result of an overrated, overfunded overpaid underbrained stuffy organisation? We had booked a tour a few months before and the process of getting the security passes was terrible. We just got inside one of the ugly 1960s building...
