Jeju Central City Hotel (solo trip)

I honestly have no idea how this hotel received such high ratings. My 3-night stay was a total nightmare. The room had a strong, musty odor and the carpet was wet and sticky to step on. The main air conditioning was completely off, even though the room temperature reached 28°C. There was zero airflow or natural ventilation, even though I stayed on one of the highest floors. The rooms are too small for two queen beds with no space in between. The AC is controlled not to go below 20C but the room is so hot. There is a musty smell on the floor and stains all over. Housekeeping only comes every 3 days only. There are no outlets near the beds. The list goes on. I’ve stayed at the Gangnam sister hotel and that was wonderful. This Jeju hotel sucks.

This is my first time in Jeju to preface. I booked through a 3rd party website as well. When we arrived, the room was definitely not as clean as advertised. The first night was not pleasant. Mini fridge does not work at all. Air conditioning barely functions. The shower head was not properly fitted so water sprayed out of the spout. We realized that there was mold on the ceiling (shown in picture)...

Room is a typical older design room. Room is clean. There is bath tub in the toilet, toilet bowl come with warmer. As for toiletries, the hotel does not provide tooth brush and toothpaste but not a big issue as there 2 convenient stores opposite. Location is centralized, near a lot of restaurants. The staffs are friendly. Overall, I am happy with my 4 nights stay with this hotel.

The location is top-notch. The room is a bit average. Our bathroom tub was leaky, which was a bit of a downer. We were out most of the time, so it's not a big deal.
