The quiet pine grove, seasonal blossoms, and origin-myth exhibits set a romantic mood, yet the compact grounds close by 18:00 and offer few evening or dining options, so time together is brief.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: This allows time to view the three origin holes, watch the myth film, and stroll the pine grove.
Stroll Pine Grove and Three Holes:
Walk the shaded path to the three hollow pits where Jeju’s founders are said to have emerged.
Tip: Follow the signs from the entrance and pause at each hole for photos.
Watch Origin Myth Film:
View a 15-minute animated film on the Tamna founding legend in the exhibition hall.
Tip: Check film times at the desk to avoid wait time.
Capture Dolharubang Photo:
Pose with the stone guardian statue at the entrance for a fun couple selfie.
Tip: Use the statue’s carved face as a frame and try different angles.
Offer Incense at Shrine:
Light a stick at the small temple and follow local custom to honor the founders.
Tip: Bring a few extra won for the incense donation box.

Samseonghyeol feels like going back in time. The facilities are well kept, clean and felt very peaceful. Inside one of the buildings there are exhibits explaining the beliefs of how the island came about, it was interesting to learn. It was a quick and peaceful stroll. I enjoyed my time here

Though a fee is required to enter. The place has a historical significance to Jeju. The cherry blossom trees here are popular for photography due to its low branches. Be prepared to queue for pictures.

Very mythical and exciting place for me. According to legend this is where the first rulers of Jeju emerged. So this is historic and sacred. There are plenty to see. Temple, museum, video about the island's creations and the pillars itself and hole where the 3 brothers appeared.

A relaxed little shrine and exhibition. It’s very calm and has a nice walking trail. Not *too* much to see here, but it’s also quite cheap at only 4,000 won (~$3) per ticket. They have some interesting statues and information about the local mythology and significance of the shrine. Worth popping in at while out and about sightseeing.

Admission fee was low and we were taken in by a friendly staff member who set up the video in English for us to watch and learn about the history which we really enjoyed. After the video we walked around the grounds which were stunning ...
