Babies can splash at the calm shoreline and rest under pines, and diaper-changing stalls exist, yet no stroller rental or nursing room means caregivers must bring gear and plan shade breaks.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Long enough to enjoy wading, shade, snacks and a short sunset view without overtiring the baby.
Pine-shaded rest spot:
Set up under the pine grove behind the sand.
Tip: Arrive early to reserve a flat area for feeding or napping.
Gentle baby wading:
Carry your baby into the shallow water near shore.
Tip: Stay within 0.5 m depth and hold baby securely at all times.
Beach mat & parasol rental:
Rent a mat and umbrella for shade.
Tip: Ask at the CU convenience store or beach desk for daily rates (~10 000 KRW).
Picnic near facilities:
Spread out close to restrooms and showers.
Tip: Keeps diaper changes and quick rinses easy for both adults and baby.

Beautiful and popular beach. During low tide, many went to do beach combing - can find shrimps, hermit crabs and crabs there. Public toilet is easily accessible and facilities outside the toilets for beach goers to wash their feet as well.

There wasn’t a large area to sit on the sand. The tide was out quite far that time of day so you could walk out far. Lots of free parking in the area. Lots of trash on the beach so it wasn’t nice to spend time there.

A popular beach on the north-west coast of Jeju, Hyeopjae Beach is only 1.5 hours away from city centre by bus. The location is well-equipped with restaurants and other infrastructure, so tourists can enjoy a quick meal after visiting the beach. We spent a little more than an hour here; the water was clear and the weather was perfect for photos with friends.

Morning time is best time to see the jelly color of the ocean. A bit far away from Aewol, where the main attractions are, but Hyeopjae is less crowded and calmer with good local vibes … love it !

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and it was overwhelmingly crowded, both on the beach itself and in the surrounding ...
