Children can hand-feed parrots, ride the ₩5 000 tram, and enter fenced lava caves; wide paths, many toilets, and snack stalls aid supervision, so a three-hour visit stays fun and manageable.
Why 3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to visit caves, bird garden, folk village, tram ride and rest stops without rushing.
Explore Hyeopjae & Ssangyonggul Caves:
Walk flat, well-lit paths through two lava tubes and feel the cool air.
Tip: Bring a light jacket or hoodie; floors can be damp and slippery.
Hand-feed parrots at Safari Bird Garden:
Buy a small seed pack and let kids feed colorful parrots through the cage bars.
Tip: Buy feed (₩2,000) at the aviary entrance to attract the birds close.
Ride the Tropical Loop Tram:
Take a 10–15 minute loop around the park for an overview of major gardens.
Tip: Board at Gomsol Rest Area and reserve seats early to sit together.
Wander the Folk Village:
See traditional Jeju thatched houses, stone walls and learn island culture.
Tip: Ask staff about fun facts; kids enjoy the stone sculptures and small doorways.
Splash at the Water Garden:
Step across shallow ponds, spot koi and play on stepping stones.
Tip: Have kids wear non-slip shoes; paths can get wet during play.

It was beyond my expectation! Loved it! The recommended time was 1.5hrs but we spent the entire morning there (about 4 hours, including lunch at the “village” area). The caves were super cool too!

This was highlights for the day...didn't think much about this arboretum but to our surprise, it is hugh park. They have so many varieties of plants and flowers...though not many flowers blossom. They even have some birds and even crocodile. They even have caves to explore even though it was way too dark to see anything. Be careful walking i side the caves. We have great time walking around d...

Beautiful, zen place. Amazing caves, stunning "Stones & Bonsai" display. Almost skipped it and I loved it the most next to the caves. Assorted snacks and souvenirs. First time I get to see ostriches and lovely peacocks. Loved this part of our trip. Recommended if you're a nature lover.

Best place i went in Jeju, there's so much to see. Place was quite empty as i was there on weekdays late afternoon. Would be good if I was there earlier as I didn't have much time there. Got to see cactus, flowers, cave and even some cool animals there. Definitely a good experience!

Love the plant exhibitions. Worth a day’s visit! The place was clean and the wide variety of vegetation was cool to see! The caves were awesome to walk thru as well! I do wish the animal’s housing was more expansive, as in I wish they each had more space. Some of them are suffering from cramped space, which causes stress.
