Kids can count ducks and flowers and get an age-appropriate glimpse of Korean War history, but there are no play zones and respectful silence is expected, so energetic children may tire quickly.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Gives enough time to see the main monuments, join the flag ceremony, and let kids explore nature spots
Flag-Raising Ceremony:
Watch the precise UN flag-raising or lowering ceremony
Tip: Arrive by 9:50 AM or 4:50 PM at the main plaza; kids will enjoy the marching guard and colors
Nature Counting Game:
Spot ducks, fish, geese, turtles, and flowers on the grounds
Tip: Print a simple checklist at home; give each child a pencil to mark finds
Cherry-Blossom Photo Fun:
Pose under the double cherry blossom arches in spring
Tip: Visit in late March–early April; bring a light blanket to catch petals for play
Picnic on the Lawn:
Relax with snacks on the grass near the main plaza
Tip: Use a small mat and stay outside memorial zones; pack water and easy-to-eat foods
Memorial Hall Documentary:
Watch a 15-minute film on the Korean War in multiple languages
Tip: Ask the attendant for showtimes in English; pair it with a quick restroom break

The UN Memorial Cemetery in Korea is an absolute must-visit when in Busan. It’s a deeply meaningful place that reminds us of the importance of honoring history and remembering those who sacrificed their lives. The atmosphere is calm and moving, creating a space for quiet reflection. Beyond its beauty, it holds great historical and intellectual value, walking through the grounds really makes you th...

This museum reminds us of the tremendous sacrifice UN forces made in freeing South Korea during the Korean War. The changing of the guard is definitely worth seeing if the weather is good. The cemetery is so well kept. It is manicured and demonstrates the huge value the South Koreans still place on the ultimate sacrifice that so many UN soldiers made.

Very peaceful and well maintained memorial place. The staff at the memorial hall where the introduction video is displayed could say thank you in Turkish. They played the video in Turkish for us as well. We spent between 1-2 hours here. I’d recommend visiting this place especially if you’re from one of the 17 countries who joined the Korean war.

It’s nice to see this memorial built by a country that is grateful for the help it has received from several nations and the sacrifice made by the men that found their eternal peace on the battlefield during the Korean Conflict! When visiting the place it’s requested to keep an atmosphere of silence and respect. So don’t be like some of the locals ...

This is a must-see location if you have any interest in the Korean War or South Korean history in general. The park itself is very well maintained and lots of information about the conflict can be found there. It was very sombre to see all the international graves and memorials, but a good experience.
