How Kids-Friendly is Busan Songdo Sea Cable Car?

Children can ride at child prices, watch moving dinosaurs, walk rooftop gardens, and learn in the cable-car museum, but fear of heights and no playground staff lower convenience a bit.

Considerations for visiting Busan Songdo Sea Cable Car (with kids)

Positives:

  • Family-friendly facilities: Stations have stroller-friendly paths and restrooms with diaper-changing tables.
  • Free toddler ride: Children under 36 months ride free; bring ID for age verification.
  • On-site amenities: Convenience stores and cafés at both stations sell snacks and bottled water.

Challenges:

  • Weather dependency: Cable car may close in strong winds or heavy rain.
  • No food in cabins: Food and drinks are banned inside gondolas; plan snack breaks at stations.
  • Bring a stroller: No stroller rental available on-site; bring your own for young kids.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Families need time for multiple rides, kids’ exhibits, and snack breaks without rushing.

Used our busan pass to get free rides, there was no queue at all and we were guided to the crystal cabin cable car. The view was spectacular, the cable car was safe and the island we went to was amazing. Definitely a must-do when in Busan.

Good scenic cable car ride You have the option to choose glass bottom with slightly higher fare but it’s worth it. On the destination station amnam park there are many hiking and scenic spots, restaurants.

Fantastic views. Highly recommended and right up there in the things to do when in Busan. During the initial (uphill ride) the cable cars are filled with 6 people which is ok, it’s definitely plenty of room and comfort. On the way back however they give you the option to be in the car in twos which is really nice for couple making the downhill ride quite romantic. I am not normally a cable car guy...

It was an amazing experience, the views are stunning from the cable car! We did the one way route down. Take note: there are a LOT of stairs and a steep incline to walk to the top! Once we got off the cable car, we walked around beautiful Songdo Beach at sunset. Even if you do not want to ride on the cable car, it is definitely wortels it to visit Songdo Beach!
