How Kids-Friendly is BIFF Square?

School-age children like arcade games, VR film museum and sweet snacks, yet no playground and heavy crowds mean parents must supervise closely and bring their own child gear.

Considerations for visiting BIFF Square (with kids)

Positives:

  • Car-free pedestrian zone: The street is closed to cars, so little ones can walk and run safely.
  • Free handprint photo ops: No fee to see and photograph celebrity handprints along Star Street.

Challenges:

  • Weekend crowds: Narrow lanes fill quickly on weekends and evenings, making strollers hard to push.
  • Limited seating: Few benches are available; snack breaks often happen standing or in nearby cafes.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A 2–3 hour visit lets families explore handprints, sample street food, and enjoy a nearby museum without rushing.

Interesting place to walk around in Busan. As a traveler I have been many places and the venders here are not too pushy, therefore you feel comfortable and safe. Boy do they have a lot of stuff!!! Don't bother with the jello ball, it was so weird!!! It's like jello covered in peanut butter powder or something, just a scam. The pastry fried and filled with seeds and honey, now that was good!! It is a long street where you can easily find the local foods. It connects to the local markets and allows you to explore the culture business of people. But it closes early in the weekday even weekend not many people around 11pm. If you visit Busan, do not miss this.

The art and craftsmanship of the floats is awe inspiring. There was music played on a Japanese guitar that reminded me of a Guqin. There was a challenge to visitors to match the beat of ceremonial drums that was fun to watch. I could have spent more time there if I had not been on a guided tour with other stops. Highly recommend this visiting this cultural treasure

The market offers a wide selection of local goods at competitive prices, providing a genuine Korean cultural experience. Its central location and vibrant atmosphere, unlike typical shopping malls, are highly recommended.
