Colorful murals, lion statues and May lantern craft interest children, yet long staircases, uneven stones and no stroller rental or play area demand constant supervision.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A visit lasting 2 to 3 hours lets your family see key halls, pagoda and take a short forest walk without rushing kids.
Iljumun Gate:
Pass under the One-Pillar Gate with its colorful Dancheong painting resting atop sturdy stone pillars.
Tip: Have kids count the gate’s vibrant colors and take photos from different angles.
Daeungjeon Hall:
Enter the main hall to see detailed wood carvings and vibrant interior paintings.
Tip: Encourage children to spot dragon and phoenix motifs inside.
Three-Story Stone Pagoda:
View the 9th-century pagoda built on a double-deck base beside the hall.
Tip: Ask kids to guess how many stones make each level as you walk around it.
Samneung Forest Trail:
Stroll the easy forest path behind the temple through streams and pine groves.
Tip: Bring water and let kids dip their feet at safe stream spots.

Beautiful temple and surroundings. Worth a visit. Don't follow the naver maps directions. Instead take the train to Beomeosa station or Nopo station (even better) and take the 90 bus (it takes you to the temple entrance).

1300ish years history temples and beautiful walking trail. Highly recommended for a day trip plus bongmeosa temple nearby.

Easy inexpensive access from the city by subway and bus. Atmospheric peaceful visit in a snow storm. I think it's a must do on a visit to Busan.

Amazing temple on the top of a mountain near Busan city center. You can take a bus that leaves you at the door. Many buildings conform this temple that for sure will enjoy wandering around in the middle of nature. Highly recommended visit at anytime
