What makes it 45% Baby-Friendly: Caregivers may board the lift with strollers, yet narrow paths require lifting and no diaper tables or nursing rooms exist. Gusty viewing decks and many stairs make long stays tiring.
Note: 168 Stairs is 45% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Busan for a more suitable experience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for the inclined elevator ride, mural viewing and a café break with your baby.
Ride the inclined elevator:
Take the free inclined elevator from base to summit to avoid the 168 steep steps.
Tip: Bring your baby in a carrier; you can also fold a stroller and board easily.
Explore the mural-lined stairway:
Walk along the steps and view colorful murals depicting Busan’s history and local life.
Tip: Pause on the landings to point out bright scenes to your baby.
Relax at the summit café:
Enjoy a drink or light snack at the three-story café at the top with city views.
Tip: Ask the staff about space for a stroller and request a high chair if available.
Use benches on the route:
Take breaks on benches placed along the stairway to rest and hold your baby.
Tip: Plan short stops every few flights to adjust baby and yourselves.
In summer, elevator runs until 21:00 so you can catch a sunset. In winter, it closes by 20:00 and paths can be icy; wear shoes with grip and wrap your baby warmly.

There used to be a small ride you could take to the top, but it is not operating anymore. It seems the entire place is undergoing refurbishing touches. For now, it has unfortunately a little bit of a construction site feel to it. However, as mentioned, one of the best view spots...

There are a couple of viewing platforms on the way. There seems to be a tram going up, but both times I went to was not i...

We walked the stairs as the monorail seems to have been decommissioned. The walk wasn't as bad as I expected but it was quite steep so can be a little nerve wrecking. There are a couple of viewing platforms on the way to the top which have great views of the city.
