Chalet Queenstown (with baby)

I had my flight to New Zealand cancelled — completely out of my control — and the Chalet Hotel still charged me for the full three days. They were not helpful in the slightest, showed zero understanding or care, and basically told me “too bad.” I’ve never experienced such inflexible, dismissive treatment from a hotel. I will never stay here again and strongly recommend others avoid it.

This place is cute, the lady who checked us in was nice, it has a solid view, and is walkable to everything in Queenstown. But wow does it need noise isolation in the rooms. I'm laying in bed listening to our neighbor take a shower right now and it literally feels like I'm in a metal box during a rain storm. So glad we stayed here. Deborah is a great host, making us feel so welcome. The room was very comfy and cosy, and with a short walk into town it is in a fab location. Highly recommend staying here.

Booked to stay at the Chalet Queenstown in winter when it was a bit quieter. A winter storm blew in and slowed traffic over the pass to Queenstown, delaying my arrival. The manager was quite kind and stayed up late to greet me and get me settled. Big thanks for that. The room was comfortable with a compact yet comfortable bathroom.
