What makes it 57% Kids-Friendly: Children weighing 20 kg+ may book the same tandem flight and gain confidence, yet smaller kids are barred, adult pricing applies, and exposed launch areas offer little shelter or entertainment while waiting.
Why 2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A two-hour slot covers the shuttle ride, safety briefing, and a 12–15 minute flight without rushing young children.
Tandem Paragliding:
Run a few steps off Coronet Peak summit then float over lakes for 12–15 minutes.
Tip: Ensure each child meets the 20 kg minimum and wear windproof layers.
Spectator Van Experience:
Non-flying family members ride the shuttle to watch take-offs and landings.
Tip: Book spectator seats in advance at NZD 20 per person and bring snacks.
Instructional Flight:
Add hands-on steering time to your tandem flight with pilot guidance.
Tip: Reserve at booking for an extra NZD 20–30 per person and ask about age suitability.

Awesome paragliding experience for the whole family at Coronet Peak! Great guides and serene gliding experience... Just FYI the tricks can be a bit much if you have weak stomach... luckily we didn't 😂

My cousin and I just did our first paragliding at Coronet Peak with our friendly guides , Jack and Sener. Both of them were really friendly and reassured us that it is very safe. My experience with Jack was super fun as he did some stunts before landing. It is definitely a memorable experience for us. We totally enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone who is planning to try out paragliding.

Had a absolutely amazing flight from the top of Coronet Peak. Nice smooth take of from the peak, amazing flight, cool banked turns and a smooth landing. It was my first time paragliding and absolutely loved the experience. Thanks Peter from Hungry. You were a great pilot. Can't wait to do it again next year I'm in Queenstown.

This has been my first hang-gliding experience, it was in March, few years ago. -Did I like it? Yeah, it was my first time, and I had a blast, even though the experience was way too short and the view was anything outstanding. -Was it worth (money/experience)? No. I got told the experience would have lasted up to 15 minutes, but it only lasted 5min. Put $195 for the experience, put $60 for pic and...

Really good experience. Instructors were very friendly and easy to get along with. The ride is a bit short though, but that could be the norm in NZ or Queenstown.
Flights run in most seasons but need clear skies and low winds. Check weather two days ahead and re-confirm on the morning.
