What makes it 66% Baby-Friendly: Babies can ride prams on the Tawhairaunui trail and rest at picnic shelters, yet steep ground elsewhere, patchy baby-change benches and no dedicated nursing room reduce comfort.
Why 3-5 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: 3–5 hours lets you complete the loop, rest at picnic shelters, and use the Visitor Centre at a relaxed pace.
Tawhairaunui Trail:

Tip: Keep stroller wheels clear of small exposed roots near platforms.

Victoria Park Information Centre:
Indoor rest spot with park maps and ranger advice.

Friendly staff, drop-off and pick-up couldn't be easier getting new tyres changed and not overtly priced. All these done from the moment you get your coffee (free from the vending machine) to finishing up till the last drop.

Small car park over the road. Awesome views. Water fountain- just a trickle though. Pretty clean. Nice people. Extremely windy day I was there. Reasonably large. Overall very good.

This park is very spacious with lots of play structures for the little ones. It's very clean and has lots of picnic tables for a family event. It's a nice place to play and go for a stroll on their awesome walking trail and beautiful view.Lots of green space to look around, as well as a few ponds which are all pretty nice! ✅
After rain (especially in winter), paths can be slippery. In summer, bring a stroller sunshade and sunblock; shaded spots are limited.
