What makes it 67% Baby-Friendly: Flat stroller paths, grass for crawling, and nearby toilets suit babies; lack of change tables and open water edges lowers comfort, yet short shaded picnics remain feasible.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Gives time for a leisurely picnic, stroller walk and short birdwatching with breaks.
Shaded Picnic at Picnic Area 2:
Use the covered tables and nearby toilets for feeding or napping your baby.
Tip: Arrive early to secure a spot close to the changing area.
Stroller-Friendly Walk by the Boathouse:
Follow the flat, firm path beside the boatshed lake for an easy push.
Tip: Use a sunshade attachment and pack light to navigate smoothly.
Refill at Drinking Fountains:
Find water taps near the main entrance and picnic zones to top up bottles.
Tip: Bring a spill-proof bottle or sippy cup for the baby.
Bird Spotting at the Lake:
Sit quietly by the water to watch black swans, mallards and ducklings.
Tip: Use a baby carrier for better views and quick hands-free photos.

This is the best fenced dog park ì have seen. Absolutely huge. I have been there probably a dozen times and never come across a bad dog or owner. Because it's so large dogs can spread out.

Great place to have a picnic or a walk around. Has a great dog park with multiple areas for dogs to be off lead

Fantastic park not far away from city centre. Plenty of parking, toilets well maintained.

Nice and quiet park to go and do some picnic When it's not busy you can pick one of the few tables Consider not so much space to stay in the shade Great for doing some walk, stroll, bike ride or bring kids/pets

A great place to walk the dog and places for the kids to play and fish. Most of all the walks around the small lakes are really good, easy for everyone. Best of all the bird life is so good. Easy parking and is on the bus route. Highly recommend
In summer bring sunhats and sunscreen; in winter pack warm layers and wipes for muddy paths. Spring sees ducklings on the water; autumn offers fewer crowds.
