Western Park is a large park in the middle of busy Ponsonby area. Being on a downhill slope, It is accessible via Ponsonby road on one end and streets linking to Hepburn Street on one side. There are a lot of walks with some uphill climb given the nature of the terrain. The bottom part of the park features a large kids playground which is very popular with families and kids. Some interesting art i...

I attended the woof rainbow dog show at this park. It was so much fun. The park playground is like a theme park, the view is stunning and has good bathroom facilities.

Sooo cool! I searched google for ruins in Auckland and this came up. Since I was in the city, I decided to check it out. Situated on the edge of Western Park (Ponsonby Rd side), these sculptures are a perfect way to commemorate old Auckland. Just catch an inner link bus and get off opposite the spca boutique.

An awesome playground awaits, featuring fast-flowing slides and a thrilling flying fox that offers impressive views of the city. While it can get a bit boggy during the winter due to a makeshift lake, it remains a nice spot for kids and adults to play and relax.

When is the best time to visit Western Park (Auckland, New Zealand)?

Summer: use shade trees and sunscreen. Winter: watch for wet, slippery paths and wipe stroller wheels.
