How Kids-Friendly is Auckland Town Hall?

70%Kids-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 70% Kids-Friendly: Children are admitted and there are all-ages organ shows and occasional kids theatre, but no hands-on exhibits, so interest may fade after about an hour if no family event is on.

Positives:

  • Family-friendly facilities: Pram parking, highchairs and baby-change rooms on the lower ground floor make visits smoother.
  • Central location: Direct access from Aotea Square lets you combine indoor shows with outdoor play.

Challenges:

  • Event-dependent access: Foyer spaces open only 60 minutes before performances; plan your arrival around show times.
  • Limited free recitals: Complimentary organ concerts occur just four times a year, so check the schedule before you go.

Came here to see Boney M. Never been here before, great smaller venue with great acoustics. Lovely old building with ornate ceiling as well as large organ at the front. Main area is standing only with small balcony around the edge

A beautiful historic building that hosts small to medium shows, plays and live music and seminars. Building is very old and has the British architecture feeling with Maori. Totally loved it. It is owned and maintained by Auckland Council
