For sure it’s a large plaza - One of the largest public squares in the world! It is the symbolic center of Mexico’s political (National Palace), religious (Metropolitan Cathedral), and cultural life. It’s quite a surprise to see political demonstrations and protest encampments there.

This is were many events take place, one of the new years celebrations and concerts. During the day in December there were vendors all along the side fences, not many people inside. Some photo ops and decorations, really beautiful and clean. I didnt see any public restrooms or free water.

All I can say is gorgeous 😍!!!The place is bustling with culture. Vendors selling authentic Mexican jewelry, clothing, herbal medicines and other stuff. We were surrounded by beautiful architecture from cathedrals to shoping plaza. I truly enjoyed myself. People entertained us with Mexican folk dance. Great place to bring the family and friends.

A very beautiful place with a lot of history. You'll find lots of people and street vendors. You can go inside the church and eat at several restaurants. I was there for the Day of the Dead celebration and it was amazing—so many people and so many flowers! So many Catrinas and crafts. You can visit the area with whomever you want, kids and friends!
Mexico City’s rainy season (June–September) can bring sudden downpours. Visit underground early to avoid puddles and bring a rain cover for the stroller. In cooler months, layer your baby and bring a sunshade for open-air areas.
