Good place to stop for 5-10 minutes and to click a couple of photos. You cannot go inside the palace so please be mindful of that. The Buckingham palace style cavalry guards on the main gate is a nice touch.

Istana Negara is a majestic landmark showcasing Malaysia’s royal heritage. The palace architecture is stunning with beautifully maintained gardens. A perfect place to admire history, culture, and tradition. Though entry is restricted, the exterior views and photo spots make it worth visiting.

The horses are well cared for and well behaved, and are very tolerant to tourists' antics. Please interact with them with...

Before the trip, I knew very little about Malaysia’s monarchy, but Ilyas taught us a lot about how the king is chosen from among nine hereditary sultans every five years. My girls had many questions, and he patiently answered every single one. The palace itself was impressive to see...

A well-maintained and peaceful spot, mainly good for sightseeing and photography. The architecture is grand and the surroundings are clean, including the washrooms. However, there’s not much to do apart from admiring the view from outside since entry is restricted. Worth a short visit if you're nearby.
