What makes it 41% Baby-Friendly: Infants may enter, but uneven paths, many steps, no stroller hire, no nursing or diaper rooms and limited shade make care difficult; parents should bring carrier, mat and double-check facilities.
Note: Johor Zoo is 41% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Johor Bahru for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for slow walks, baby breaks, and feeding sessions without rushing.
Children’s playground at Zone 1:
Free slides and swings in a shaded area near the entrance.
Tip: Visit early to let your baby explore soft play surfaces before crowds arrive.
Camel & deer feeding session:
Buy feed (≈MYR 2) to hand-feed camels and deer under supervision.
Tip: Hold your baby in a carrier while an adult does the feeding to keep them safe.
Shaded rest area and amphitheatre:
Benches and a small amphitheatre offer quiet spots for nursing or breaks.
Tip: Bring a portable mat for quick diaper changes on the benches.
Interactive bird aviary stroll:
Stroll through the aviary to see parrots and cockatoos up close.
Tip: Go in the morning when birds are most active and the area is less crowded.

15 Nov 2025 We had plan to come to the zoo quite some time ago. Finally this morning we decided to proceed with the plan. Parking beside Kota Jail and took the shuttle bus was easy. With the RM 10 ticket for Malaysian, we should go more often to support the place. It took us about 1 hour to complete the walk as many places still under renovation. Looking forward to visit again in the future.

Overall experience is quite satisfying. Attended under event for special kids. Friendly staffs. Love the animals. Cheap tickets. There was a few of animals closed due to construction. Was hoping for it to be more wheelchair friendly. Some of the ramp is a bit steep. Looking forward for animals like giraffe and sea animals in the future. Perhaps a cafeteria would help too since it's a bit far to ge...

my visit to zoo johor was a pleasant and decent experience. The zoo offers a nice variety of animals, and it’s a relaxing place to spend time with family or friends. The atmosphere is calm and shaded in many areas, making it comfortable to walk around. The ticket prices are reasonable, and it is easy to explore at your own pace. While it is not a very large zoo, it still provides an enjoyable out...

Went there on the weekend. I parked my car on the roadside and walked there. Not much parking was available, and it was full. When I arrived, I waited for around 5 minutes in the queue. The ticket price is RM10 per adult. The place is clean, well-maintained, and since it's renovated, there is no rubbish on the floors. The atmosphere is okay, but if it's a sunny day, you better skip the noon ho...

We visited Zoo Johor on a weekday afternoon after Dhuhur prayer and this is our second time here. Overall, it remains a pleasant place for families, though it would be wonderful if the zoo could improve accessibility to make it more stroller and wheelchair-friendly. Young children especially love zoos, and smoother paths would make the experience much easier for parents. On this trip, we noticed ...
Monsoon season (Nov–Feb) brings sudden showers—pack a light rain poncho and visit early morning to avoid heavy rain and midday heat. Always bring a sun hat and sunscreen.
