Sunshine City Prince Hotel Ikebukuro Tokyo (couple trip)

This is based on how much is charged. For this price I did not expect an airplane bathroom. Dirty walls and floors. Walls so thin we hear people having normal conversations at 2am. If this was half the cost I wouldn't be leaving a 2 star review, but we expected a lot more for the most expensive hotel we have stayed in our 3 week stay in Japan.

The room is nice and in good condition, but the air conditioning situation is unacceptable for this price point. You are not able to change the temperature in each room. Rather, it is controlled by the hotel manager for the entire hotel. There is only a black knob in each room to allegedly change the air flow, but even on high, the air flow was pathetically weak. Room was spacious and nice. Location to the train station was close. We wanted to do luggage forwarding from the hotel but they directed us to the family mart in the hotel, which made it more difficult than we wanted. The room itself didn’t have very good noise cancelling. You could hear your neighbours, especially if they’re talking.

This is a clean hotel located conveniently in a mall and lots of shops/restaurants and a mall with a subway station in it. It’s slightly far wall away from all the main tourist attractions so if you’re looking at hitting those up you might want to look somewhere else.
